Today was OnePlus's big London event, and alongside the disappointing OnePlus 7T Pro OnePlus revealed the details of the McLaren Edition OnePlus 7T Pro. It's basically the same phone, but with extra RAM, a fancy colour scheme, and a bit of licensing from an motorsport company.
And when I say it's basically the same phone, I mean it's almost exactly the same as the OnePLus 7T Pro - which itself is barely different from the OnePlus 7 Pro. But while the 7T Pro only has 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage, the McLaren Edition has 12GB of RAM. That number isn't particularly special, since the top-tier 7 Pro had the same amount of memory, but it means this is the only 7T Pro that has that much RAM.
Of course it has a carbon fibre-effect design, and 'papaya orange' highlights, just like the McLaren Edition 6T Pro that was released a year ago. But while the 6T McLaren had extra features the regular 6T did not, that's not the case this year. It does have some special orange-hued graphic design, including extra live wallpapers and icons based on the McLaren dashboard. So like the 7T Pro, it doesn't actually seem all that special. But I digress.
The McLaren Edition 7T Pro arrives on 5th November, and will cost £799 - the same as the 12/256GB 7 Pro was in May.
