The Guinness World Record for the largest number of people contributing to a Rubiks Cube mosaic has been broken, so crack open that case of champagne you've been saving for the occasion.
The previous record was set at 293 people, but who cares about that anymore. It was blown out of the water this week, on October 2, with 308 contributors coming together to create this Rubik’s Mosaic of Prince Harry.
"The Rubik’s Cube immersive pop-up experience was a massive success and it was fantastic to see so many enthusiastic individuals combine to create such a phenomenal achievement as breaking a Guinness World Record. We can’t wait for 2020 when we have so many exciting new initiatives to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the Rubik’s Cube taking the world by storm,” said CEO of Rubik’s Brand Ltd, Christoph Bettin.
A total of 1,575 Rubik’s Cubes made up the mosaic that was designed by Norwegian cube artist, cubearting. It will be donated to Scottish charity, the Teapot Trust, that provides art therapy in children's hospitals across the UK.
