Remember back in November when Manchester United announced that they'd partnered with the Lego company for some reason? Now we know what the fruits of that partnership are. It's a Lego version of Old Trafford football stadium, which is one of the things we figured might be happening. Though we were way off about the price.
Hitting your local Lego store this Thursday is the 3898 piece model of the stadium, which is part of Lego's Creator Expert range - so it's certainly not for the faint of heart. Why it's not one of the smaller sets in the Architecture range isn't clear, but maybe that's something people can look forward to further down the line.
The set itself is actually a 1:6000 scale replica of the stadium that ties into the building's 110th anniversary and includes all the finer details United fans would expect to find. I wouldn't, because I don't like football, but then again for once I'm not the target audience for this particular set.
The downside is that it's going to cost £249.99 if you want to add this to the shelf in the living room. Though it is 47cm x 39cm x 18.5cm, which means you might be able to fit some minifigs inside and pretend to kick a Lego football about.
The set arrives on Thursday 16th January for VIP members, and will go on general sale for everyone else on 1st February. VIP membership is worth it, if you don't have it already, and not just to get stuff like this before the hoards who don't want Lego tracking their purchases.
You can find out more about the set over on the Lego store website.
