The OnePlus Concept Phone is Going on Tour, But No You're Still Not Allowed to Buy One

By Tom Pritchard on at

Earlier this month OnePlus unveiled its first 'concept phone', i.e. a device that was only made to generate headlines and hype, and would never, ever, end up in the hands of people who would use it every day. But it is going on tour, so people can gawp at it in person, and presumably not be allowed to play with it.

The tour kicks off in Seattle on 6th February, but the phone will be available to gawp at in the McLaren technology Centre in Woking on 13th February. It's there because McLaren love to partner up with OnePlus, and had a hand in helping develop the special glass that hide's the concept's camera lenses.

But this isn't an event you can just turn up to, or even buy tickets for. In the usual OnePlus style you have to enter a competition for the chance to attend. Then figure out your own way to Woking on the day, and navigate the traffic on the woodland roads leading to the McLaren site.

But there's good news for F1 fans, who will be able to use the event to see the MCL35 racing car that's due to be launched on the day. But you have to be a OnePlus community member, or else you're not allowed to enter, though I'm not sure how they're going to check.

Head over to McLaren's website, fill out the competition form, and pray to whatever deity/celebrity you worship that you'll win a ticket.

Other tour dates are included, and you can head over to the OnePlus forums for more details on how to attend - if you can attend, that is.
