Tesco Expands Its Plant-Based Food Range This Veganuary

Tesco has bolstered its Plant Chef and Wicked Kitchen ranges with 24 new products.

The items range from chilled, frozen, and cupboard stuff, with the supermarket's own Plant Chef brand rolling out frozen food for the first time. As well as freezer goodies like meat-free sausage rolls, nut cutlets and burgers, Plant Chef's Food-To-Go products are now part of the meal deals in stores offering customers one sandwich, sub, pasty or salad, along with and one snack and a drink for £3.

Meanwhile, the Wicked Kitchen range has added a selection of spice blends, rubs, and dressings, including BBQ rubs, beetroot dressing, and a snazzy chilli, mint, and lime salt.

Tesco launched its Plant Chef range last September with a line of meals that would sit alongside the Wicked Chef brand, which is also available exclusively at Tesco. Last year also saw the supermarket unveil the world’s first plant-based latte soluble coffee thanks to its timed-exclusivity deal with Nestle. The almond, oat, and coconut lattes are only available at Tesco until February 2020 when it will presumably become a free for all. Which should be fun.
