Sky Q Adds PlayWorks App So You Can Play Games While You Decide What to Watch

In an effort to keep you engaged during the downtime between your shows, Sky Q has introduced a new PlayWorks app that lets you play 20 games for free.

I'm not quite sure who this is for, as even babies have smartphones these days, but if you don't have any games installed or can't be bothered to go get it from wherever you plopped it down, you're covered. The library of games includes classics that everyone and their gran will recognise, like Tetris, Solitaire, and Mahjong, as well as titles that have appeared on mobile, like Doodle Jump, and Crossy Road - whatever the hell that is.

PlayWorks has been available on smart TVs for a while, and its games have been designed "from the ground-up for the TV and TV Remote," so there shouldn't be any problems navigating your way through them with just a remote. The games are good to go and can be booted up using the 'open PlayWorks' voice command if you're feeling lazy, or you can find the app manually in Sky Q's app menu. Sky has further plans to bolster its app library and services on offer, including music, fitness, and learning apps, so keep an eye out for more updates over the coming months. [TechRadar]
