Costa Now Does Coca-Cola Flavoured Coffee

By Holly Brockwell on at

Remember that deservedly-short-lived orange juice/milk mixed drink that existed in the UK for a bit in the nineties? Well, this isn't worse than that, but it's close.

Costa Coffee's new coffee flavour is... Coca Cola.

(This meme is so old, it should pop up a Facebook-style warning message).

If you're the one person in the world thinking "I have GOT to try that," you're out of luck unless you happen to live in China. We didn't know Costa even existed there, but that's where the range has launched.

As part of the company's "refreshing" summer range, you can get a Coca-Cola flavour cold brew, latte or cappuccino. Presumably they're not actually fizzy -- we hope not, anyway. A spokesperson claims Coke "complements the smooth mellow coffee flavours." Alrighty then.

You won't be surprised to hear that the Coca-Cola Company actually owns Costa Coffee, because clearly it loves alliterative business names that begin with Cs.

There's no word on whether we'll get this horrifying-sounding drink over here in the UK, but if you'd like to try it, just pour 200ml of Coca-Cola into your coffee, stir well, and tip the whole thing down the sink. [Metro]
