Back in April John Lewis grabbed our attention by knocking £100 off the Lego Star Destroyer, an enormous Lego set that normally costs £650. It was only released last year, which made such a generous discount so noteworthy - especially Black Friday isn't happening for another five months. The deal sold out rather quickly, but if you missed it that time round you're in luck - that discount is back, and at the time of writing the set is still in stock.
The 4,784-piece set measures is 100cm long, 44cm high, and 66cm wide without its stand, which makes it the largest physical Lego set. The Millennium Falcon still has a higher piece count, but it's still dwarfed by the sheer size of the Star Destroyer. So bear that in mine before you add this to your basket, and watch your back before you pick it up because that box weighs about 13 kilos.
As you would expect with an order that costs this much, delivery is free. As is Click & Collect, if you live near a Waitrose that offers that service for John Lewis orders. Since John Lewis itself isn't set to open its actual shops for a couple of weeks, that's the best they can go. And I wouldn't wait, because this will be sold out before long.
So what are you waiting for? Even if you already have a Star Destroyer, there's no harm in buying more to build yourself a proper fleet.
