Lynx Teams Up with Marmite for 'World's First Social-Distancing Deodorant'

OK, who had "Marmite-scented Lynx" on their 2020 bingo card?

We checked, and it's not April Fool's Day, so it appears this is really happening. Lynx has apparently joined forces with Marmite for "the world's first social distancing deo" (is it really so hard to say "deodorant"?!), Lynx Africa Marmite.

The collaboration is designed to "keep haters away and lovers close(ish)", a reference to the immortal "love it or hate it" Marmite marketing campaign.

The new fragrance contains "aromatic notes of lavandin, white moss, and green herbs, along with woody profiles of creamy sandalwood and cedarwood – unexpectedly met with a salty punch of Marmite." Like a curry on a plate you forgot to wash.

Lynx Brand Manager Jamie Brooks comments while liberally squirting his pits:

"By combining two iconic legends that have shaped dating and breakfast culture across the nation, we have created a product like no other that is sure to get lovers and haters spreading the news.

We’ve created the scent for all the lovers, whether that’s Lynx or Marmite, but with the controversial nature of the spread, believe it also might help in keeping the haters at arm’s length."

Lynx Africa Marmite comes in a choice of body spray (£3.65 for 100ml) or body wash (£2.84 for 250ml) and will be stocked in Sainsbury's and Morrisons from today, elsewhere from the 1st of July.

We would strongly recommend not spraying it on your toast, although someone on TikTok will undoubtedly try.
