Deliveroo is Selling its Branded Cooler Bags for a Tenner

By Holly Brockwell on at

Deliveroo and Uber Eats' cooler bags have become a pretty regular sight in big cities, as everyone gets their food brought to them rather than going out into the virusy world.

Now, Deliveroo is selling said bags directly to the public, because apparently people have been requesting them in huge numbers.

Obviously, these people have never spent any time on their local Gumtree or Facebook Marketplace, where the bags are constantly advertised by people who've given up on their gig economy jobs.

Deliveroo's chilled rider bag costs a tenner, which is pretty reasonable, but it's only going to be available via the Deliveroo app, and only in five locations: Leeds, Nottingham, and Battersea York Road, Crouch End, and Swiss Cottage in London.

If you want one and you're in one of those areas, you'll find them under The Cool Bag Shop on the app from Friday 31st July.

Natasha Graydon from Deliveroo comments:

"We’ve all been victim to warm beers, melted ice, and soggy sandwiches at some point over the past couple of months. Head on over to The Cool Bag Shop on the Deliveroo app this weekend. Just remember, don’t be a tosser and Roocycle any rubbish."

According to Metro, the bags are lined with foam and wipe-clean plastic and can keep food appropriately hot or cold for up to two hours. We'll be putting a coffee and a Magnum in ours, then. [Metro]
