The world is blithely drifting back towards normality despite the covid threat in no way having buzzed off, which means things are reopening and old favourites are available again.
That includes McDonald's milkshakes, which were not included on the limited menu when branches first reopened. Now, according to Metro the company is adding another six menu items from 8th July:
- Mayo Chicken
- Bacon Mayo Chicken
- Hot chocolate
- Bacon Double Cheeseburger
- Happy Meal organic milk
More old favourites will apparently be coming back later in the year, but the usual Monopoly sticker game has been canned for 2020.
On the bright side, breakfast is also coming back to 1,000 restaurants on the 8th, but just for pancakes and McMuffins rather than the full range. No porridge for you.
McDonald’s UK & Ireland CEO Paul Pomroy, who we're picturing as the Hamburglar, comments:
"From 11am on Wednesday 8th July, we will reintroduce some of the main menu items you’ve told us you’re missing, as we slowly seek to return to our full menu
We took the decision to close our restaurants shortly before this year’s Monopoly promotion was due to launch. We know many of you enjoy this promotion, which has run since 2005 in the UK.
To enable safe working and social distancing inside our restaurants and to minimise the pressure on our employees, we have decided to cancel this year’s Monopoly VIP campaign. It creates a great deal of excitement inside our restaurants and relies heavily upon menu items we cannot safely reintroduce yet. Rest assured, we are already planning for Monopoly 2021 and hope to be able to bring this popular promotion back next Spring."
A great deal of excitement, really? You people need to get out more. Although we guess that's true for everyone now. [Metro]
