We can't imagine too many people have been waiting for a price drop on the already relatively affordable (in 2020 smartphone terms) Xiaomi Poco F2 Pro, but just in case, it's going on flash sale this Friday (31st July).
On Friday only, the phone will be available in a bundle that includes the phone, a Mi Smart Band 5 and
a Mi Suitcase update 31/7: Xiaomi seems to have switched the suitcase for a more sensible set of earbuds, specifically Mi True Wireless Earphones 2 Basic.
While the phone alone normally costs £549, the whole bundle will be priced at £479 for the day.
You can see the specs of the phone – which has only recently launched in the UK – here, but the high points are the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 SoC, 8GB RAM with 256GB storage, 6.67” FHD+ AMOLED screen with Gorilla Glass 5 on the front and back, quad rear camera including a 64MP sensor, pop-up 20MP selfie cam, 4700 mAh battery and, er, liquid cooling with the "largest vapour chamber available on the market."
The phone includes a 33W fast charger and a 3.5mm headphone jack (hooray!), support for WiFi 6 and even 5G. That is a pretty stonking deal for the price anyway, let alone with the offer.
The downside for many people will be the software: Xiaomi's MIUI Android skin with some tweaks for the Poco brand. If you can get used to it, though, that's a lot of bang for your quid, and provides a good alternative to Huawei and Honor's budget phones now that they can't use Google.
The Poco F2 Pro comes in four colours – grey, purple, white and blue – although we don't know if they'll all be included in the offer.
If you want it, set yourself a reminder to grab it on Friday, because knowing Xiaomi, we wouldn't be at all surprised if this one sells out.
