This is the Terrifying Beauty of a Suffocated Sea

This is the shoreline of the north-east Caspian Sea as seen by Korea Aerospace Research Institute's Kompsat-2 satellite. The green mass is called algal bloom and is caused by the presence of lots of unnwated phosphorous. What we are seeing is the world's largest lake in a state of suffocation.
